TERMINAL OPERATIONS MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise civil construction at the dock and plant site(s) to maintain safety and environmental compliance at all times

Supervise and manage assembly and installation of port material handling equipment at the dock as well as plant site(s)

Manage site contractors and laborers to ensure safety and compliance at all times
-
Work hand-in-hand with surveyors and engineers to ensure all construction or infrastructure bottlenecks are resolved in a timely manner so as not to impede project progress and completion
-
Function as the communication link between project managers and company owners/leaders to monitor and track installation and construction timelines and report regular progress to Project Managers and other Stakeholders

Transition to Site Operations Manager post-construction phase to ensure:

Site and equipment security and safety at all times

Manage daily incoming trucks with product deliveries
-
Monitor product safety in terms of contamination, flooding, hot-spots, over-heating, or other adverse conditions

Track, record, monitor, and communicate product quality and volumes from incoming trucks
-
Attend ship loading and supervise/manage all processes relating to ship loading such as surveying, inspections, safety, draft surveys, laycans, monitoring, weather conditions, personnel, and product volumes and integrity

Attend regular update meetings with mill management as necessary

Experience working with manufacturing and/or handling/transport of wood pellets or wood products in general a plus

Possess excellent leadership ability, not only as a leader but also as part of a team

Ability to read and interpret technical specifications

Ability to be proactive and to foresee events to react appropriately towards them

The ability to multitask and strategize in different situations as required

Ability to work and carry out projects within a stipulated time frame or deadline
-
Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering or equivalent hands-on work experience
-
Advance degree in any management or engineering field will be an added advantage
-
At least 5 years on-the-job experience in a similar role or in any other construction capacity
